David John Cope, age 61, of Muskegon and Holton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at his home. David was born on April 28, 1962 in Muskegon to Douglas Wayne and Vickie (Hawkins) Cope Sr. and has been a resident of the Holton and Muskegon area all his life. David was currently a production worker at M & S Tube Slotting and Fabrication in Grand Haven. David enjoyed working on the family farm from an early age and continued until his passing. He loved spoiling his dog, King, and enjoyed spending time with his family. David is survived by his daughter, Misty (Austin) Ingersoll of Fremont; his grandchildren, Leevi, Mickinley, Caxton, and Kroy; his parents, Douglas and Vickie Cope Sr. of Holton; his sisters and brother, Debra Hall of Holton; Dennis (Lori) Cope of Fremont; Georgia (Daniel) Schooley of Holton; Wendy (Peter) Mzuka of Oxnard, California; Lori (Tim) Ward of Fremont; several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. David was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Wayne Cope Jr. in 2011. A private family memorial gathering will be held at the family home at a later date where David's cremated remains will be placed on the family farm.
