Obituary

David Finney, 73, passed away on July 21, 2025. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and patriot, David lived a life defined by quiet strength, enduring faith, and unwavering love for his family and country.

Born on January 9, 1952, David shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Karen (Kari) Church Finney. He was a proud and loving father to his son, Seth Connor Finney, and a deeply cherished grandfather to Connor Kayden Finney and David Robert Finney. His family was the center of his world, and he found his greatest joy in their presence.

David served with honor and distinction in the U.S. Army as a member of the 101st Airborne Rangers. Drafted into service and deployed to Vietnam, he endured the hardships of war, including a harrowing period as a prisoner of war. His courage and resilience did not go unnoticed—he was later recruited by the CIA and awarded two Silver Stars, a Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart for his bravery.

Though a man of few words, David's actions spoke volumes. He carried himself with dignity and grace through many health challenges, demonstrating profound inner strength and a steadfast spirit. He remained grounded in his faith through all of life's trials.

David had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and spent countless hours enjoying nature and bird watching. A devoted baseball fan, he never missed a game—often waking up in the middle of the night to check scores. He also found comfort in his favorite westerns and game shows.

No formal service is planned at this time. A celebration of life may be held at a later date, with details to be announced.

David Finney's legacy of love, courage, and quiet perseverance will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.
