David John Paul May 23, 1957 – April 3, 2023 David Paul, age 65, of Fremont took his final breath here on earth and made his spiritual transition on April 3, 2023. David was born in Chicago, Illinois, to John Peter Paul and Florence (Wolters) Paul. David went to Fremont High School and then proudly served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army where he served two tours of duty in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1988. He worked as a distribution manager for ZF North American Inc. until his retirement. David always said he belonged in Michigan. He made his way back to Fremont in 2019 and loved his "little house" and loved the slower pace of life in Fremont. Majority of the time you could find him in his garage listening to his favorite music while having his coffee just enjoying life. David loved spending time with his grandkids, and his great grandson as well. David was the life of the party, constantly making people laugh. David was a member of Inspire Church in Fremont and loved fishing on his boat even though he couldn't swim at all. He also enjoyed visiting the different lakes and getting all dressed to the nines and never forgot his "smell goods" just to go exploring new restaurants and places. He made sure he did everything he could for his friends and family. His greatest blessing was to pay it forward. We are all going to miss his jokes and his constant I love yous. David was proceeded in death by brother, Marshall Young; sisters, Ann Marie Paul, Ruth Young, and Thelma Young Pandolfi. David is survived by his sons, Michael Paul (Shayna) of Virginia and Jeffrey Paul (Kathy) of Virginia; stepchildren, Justin Seltrecht (Sarah) and Britney Fordham; grandchildren, Audrey White-Paul (Garrett), Anthony Paul and Ashlielynn Paul; great-grandson, Landon Michael Young; sister, Janet (Rick) Ringler; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life for David will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the Inspire Church in Fremont with a Visitation from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 pm at the church.
