McAllister, David F. David F. McAllister, age 66 of Las Cruces, New Mexico, formerly of Fremont, Michigan, entered eternal life on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at his home in Las Cruces. Dave was born on July 10, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to James and Jessie McAllister and married Carol Jean Dykman in October 1967. David and Carol moved to Fremont in April of 1968. David worked for Hostess Cakes for 15 years, becoming known as Twinkie Man David then went to work for Schwanns Sales Enterprises and retired in 1996 when he and Carol moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico. David only stayed retired for two months before starting work at the Eagle Quick Mart, where he worked for 11 years with his special friends, Ed Hayes, owner and Bev Ginanni partner in crime David always enjoyed meeting people and giving his customers a hard time and enjoyed all his jobs. David loved being on the golf course with his many friends, such as Bob Hogue and Jerry Elliott. He also loved visiting with friends and telling stories, but mostly spending time with his family. David was a member of the Sonoma Springs Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555. David is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Carol of Las Cruces, New Mexico; son, David J. (Jane) McAllister of Las Cruces, New Mexico; two daughters, Wendy Jo (Dennis) Ingersoll of Fremont; Doreen J. (Don) Koch of Hesperia; one brother, Jim (Helen) McAllister of Las Cruces, New Mexico; three sisters, Mary Maurisak of Oak Forest, Illinois; Colette Golon of Oak Forest, Illinois; Kathy (Bill) Faulkner of Phoenix, Arizona; 7 grandchildren, Allissia (Nate), Ryan (Jackie), Austin, Summer, Kara, Kinsey, and Sam; 2 great grandchildren, Zacharia and Josalyn; many loving nieces and nephews as well as many life long friends in several states. David was preceded in death by one brother, Robert McAllister; one sister, Dorothy Ondera; his grandson, Benjamin Koch. Memorial services were held on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at the Fremont Wesleyan Church. Friends may consider the Fremont Church of the Nazarene Nursery Expansion for memorial contributions in memory of Dave.
