He never failed to ask me how my music was going and to tell me how much he enjoyed my playing. Dave had a great sense of humor and always made me laugh at the ideas he would come up with. I was surprised to see his name in the obits and I am really going to miss running into him in Otsego. He was a good guy and a friend, and none of us have enough friends to spare one. So long, David. Dennis T. Nelson Posted 8/18/2007 I am so sorry to here about my dear friend . We were so close soooooo many yeas ago. Dave use to come to our home all the time and every single weekend. He spent all day with David and I and our three children Todd, Tammy and Trisha. We laughed alot and just loved one another. We had so much fun. He was not related to us but a wonderful and very special man. Our children loved him like a uncle. They were all toddlers and called him Aunt Dave and his wife Uncle Linda. Sometimes it would be so late that they would stay all night. My husband never had to ask for his help, he just had to say he had to fix or do something and Dave would say when do you need me. He was like a brother to my husband David. They were friends for years. They use to work at Hotel Harris many many years ago and of course they rode a motorcycle, even in the winter time. There were lots of falls on slippery roads and who ever drove got to where the warm coat. When they didn't have much money they would ask the gas station attendance what they wanted from the bakery at hotel Harris and they traided for gasoline for the motorcycle. I could tell you so many funny stories. We use to laugh until my sides hurt. We stayed very close until David lost his way and he just disappeared out of all our lives. But I just want to tell you how much we loved and will miss him very much......Claudette Fergusson Posted 8/23/2007 I couldn't believe it when we heard he was gone. I haven't seen him for so long, but had some great times in the past. A loyal friend. Goodbye, my friend, I'll miss you. I'll picture you riding the roads of Heaven on a golden Hog. Phil Lazarus and family Posted 8/23/2007 I have not seen David since he worked as a bouncer at the Back Door Night Club in Kalamazoo, Michigan in the early 70's. He was born in 41 and I was born in 47. It seems ironic that I started working on a family genealogy early this year, and was looking for him, when I learned from Homer Jr he had perished. I can picture him now on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. I enjoyed visiting Homer Jr and David at their home in Otsego. They were always up to something. Either working on an old street rod or several Harley basket cases, and always talking about their girl friends. Bye Dave and thanks for the memories! Kenneth L (McNees) Jonatzke Posted 10/30/07
