David Charles Paul, age 68 of New Era, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at his home. David was born on August 19, 1954 in Hesperia to Charles O. and Anna Lavona (Daly) Paul and graduated from Hesperia High School. David served in the United States Army and later the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharged as a Sergeant and was a member of the Montague VFW Post #3256. David had been a supervisor at the New Era Canning Company prior to retirement and had moved to the New Era from Arizona where he had lived for 3 years and Rothbury prior to that time. David met and married Gladys Carrier on June 15, 1996 in Hesperia and enjoyed hunting, Allis Chalmers Tractors, shooting rifles, playing guitar in his younger years and had served on the Hesperia Area Fire Department while in his younger years. David is survived by his wife of 26 years, Gladys of New Era; step daughter, Tera (Robert) Johnson of Montague; step son, Sandy Olson of Montague; step grandchildren, Ashlie Schuler, Cameron Johnson, Spencer Johnson. David was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret "Margie" Paul.
