David L. Peterson, age 73 of Newaygo passed away Friday, November 7, 2008, at Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. David was born on July 4, 1935 in Grand Rapids to Harold and Eva (Kenny) Peterson and married Patricia Shier on November 20, 1966, in Cadillac. He was a conductor for Conrail Railroad until his retirement in 1994. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia; his children, Lisa (Ken) Houwerzyl of the State of Wyoming, Renee Hooker of Howard City, David (Mekoe) Peterson of Cadillac, and Eva (James Huston) Peterson of Newaygo; 8 grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Brooke, Jenna, James Jr., Felicia, Chasity, and Chariti; sisters, Orpha (Al) Bates of Newaygo, Martha (George) Bloem of Newaygo, and Lois (Dave) Bloem of Wyoming, MI.; brother, Stanley (Cathy) Peterson of Grand Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his brother Harold and sisters Berniece, Helen, and Gladys. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 11, at 11 am from the Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud. There will be visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral and lunch following the services at the White Cloud Eagles.
