David Wayne Taylor, age 81 of White Cloud, formerly of Muskegon, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at his home following a decline in his health. Dave was born on January 17, 1942 in Lansing, Michigan to Robert M. and Doris E. (Melin) Taylor. Dave later met and married Melody Grace Peavey on October 6, 1984 in White Cloud. Dave had been a truck driver for CTI Customized Transport Inc. and drove for Chrysler and Ford and later worked as a maintenance technician in Muskegon until his retirement and moved from Muskegon to the White Cloud area in 2018. Dave truly loved fishing and was happy in a boat on many of the lakes around Michigan. He enjoyed fishing tournaments with family and other tournaments in Michigan; enjoyed mowing his lawn, the Michigan outdoors and hunting and had been a bowler in his younger years. Dave also had been a stock car racer as well as snowmobile racer and enjoyed visiting with people sharing a cup of coffee and Dave was a member of the White Cloud Eagles. Dave is survived by his wife, Melody; his children, Deanna (Raymond) Greene; Randy (Kim) Taylor; Michael (Dorothy) Taylor; Cynthia (Jeff) LeFevere; JoAnna Taylor; Ellie (Kevin) Young; 14 grandchildren, Kurtis, Kory, Stephanie, Jesse, Brandie, Cody, Michael, Lacey, Christopher, Ryan, Ashley, Michelle, Caleb and Jordan; many great grandchildren; his sisters and brothers, Janice (Wayne Becksvoort; Pat Schram; Tim (Deb) Taylor; Steve (Tracy) Taylor; Judy (Tom) Crandall; Tom Taylor; many nieces and nephews. Dave was preceded in death by his sisters and brother, Deborah Strong; Carolyn Smith; Phillip Taylor. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the family home in May 2024 for Dave.
