Westenfelder Sr., David David Andrew Westenfelder, Sr., age 50 of Fremont, passed away Monday, January 31, 2005 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. He was born on June 20, 1954 in Greenville and graduated from Fremont High School in 1972. David has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where he later met and married Jean Springstead on October 4, 1992 at his farm in Fremont. He had been a truck driver for the past 32 years and was currently driving for Churchill Trucking in Detroit. He enjoyed barbequing, had been a hobby farmer and had enjoyed golfing for a period of time. He is survived by his wife, Jean of Fremont; his children, David Westenfelder Jr. of Grand Rapids; Danielle (David) Mihelac of Holland; his stepchildren, Michael (Betty) Philpott of Fremont; Bruce Philpott stationed with the United States Army in Germany; Angela (Del) Wierda of Hamilton; Vicki (Matt) Berry of Kalamazoo; Sean Springstead of Ann Arbor; Scott (Amy) Springstead of Spring Lake; Shelly (Tom) Danieli of Rochester Hills, Michigan; his mother, Winnifred Westenfelder of Fremont; 15 grandchildren; his sisters, Cristel (Bob) Blaisdell of Greenville; Patricia (Chris) Tinnermon of Virginia; Laura Davenport of Centerville, Georgia; his brother, James Templin of Chateaugay, New York; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; his special friend, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his father, Reginald Westenfelder and by his brother, Bracey Fountain. Funeral services were held on Saturday at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with interment in Reeman Cemetery.
