Obituary

Dean V. Fry, age 74 of Hendersonville, NC, formerly of Ludington, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2004 at the Mission Hospital in Ashville, North Carolina. Dean was born on March 12, 1930 in Grand Rapids to Norman and Avonell (Neal) Fry and married Helen McKenzie on August 9, 1952 in Hastings, Michigan. Dean graduated from the University of Michigan in 1953 and later completed graduate work at Northwestern University Trust School. He had been Assistant Vice President of Union Bank in Grand Rapids; served as Vice President of John Roberts Corporation in the development of Nursing Homes and Business; became Vice President of Michigan National Bank in Grand Rapids and later became President of Ludington National Bank in President until his resignation in 1983. He was active in many civic organizations in Ludington including past president of Ludington Chamber of Commerce; past president of Grand Rapids North Rotary Club; Elks in Ludington; and was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen; his children, Shelly (Michael) Aerts of Orlando, Florida; Paul (Elizabeth) Fry of Jacksonville, Florida; Blake (Mary Jo) Fry of Key Largo, Florida; 5 grandchildren and 1 sister. He was preceded in death by his son, Craig Fry on June 26, 2004 Funeral services were held on Friday, September 24, 2004 from the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Rev. Charles Fry presiding with interment in the White Cloud Cemetery. Friends may consider the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association for memorial contributions in memory of Dean.
