Della M. Gilliland, age 81 of Fremont, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Della was born on July 7, 1927 in Scottville, Michigan to Charles and Fannie (Young) Hollingsworth and graduated from Scottville High School. Della has been a resident of the Fremont area for the past 58 years where she had worked as a manager in the data processing department and assisted with the printing of the Gerber newsletter. Della married Maurice Gilliland on July 7, 1967 in Fremont and Maurice preceded her in death on April 6, 2000. Della was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fremont, had been active in the HAGS, was active with the American Red Cross Blood Drive in Newaygo County and was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge #401 in Fremont. Della enjoyed traveling, making crafts to decorate her home and her beloved dog, BG. Della is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Kolk of Wyoming, Michigan; her stepdaughters, Judy (Larry) Zandvliet of Fremont; Lydia (Jerry) Mansfield of Fremont; her grandchildren, Graham, Paul, Laura, Drew Eerdmans; 6 step grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Gilliland of Fremont. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; her brothers, Lyle, Walter, Reuben, Robert Hollingsworth; her brother-in-laws, Ray and Russell Bud Gilliland; her sister-in-law, Maize Rop. FAMILY SERVICES : Monday, August 4, 2008 at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery.
