Obituary

Dennis James Marshall, a beloved resident of Muskegon, MI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on July 10th, 1956, in Grant, Michigan, Dennis was a cherished son, brother, father, stepfather, and friend whose memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Dennis proudly served his country in the Army, honoring his commitment to serve and protect. After his military service, he found his niche as a skilled subcontractor, known for his exceptional drywall work. With a deep passion for spending time outdoors and cooking delicious meals for his loved ones, Dennis brightened the lives of those around him.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Homer J. Marshall and Bonnie Marshall, his siblings, Vicki Gonzalez and Randy Marshall, and his beloved daughter, Kristy Lynn Marshall.

Dennis leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his brother, Curtis (Jean) Marshall, and his sister, Connie (John) Blamer. His devoted children, Matthew (Christine) Marshall, and Michelle (Juan) Marshall, along with his stepdaughter, Melinda (Troy) Thieth, will continue to carry his spirit forward. Dennis was a proud grandfather to Jax and Klayton Marshall. He will also be dearly missed by family friend Michael Unger and extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor at the American Legion Post 397 in Holton, MI, on Sunday, June 1st, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with Military Honors at 2:00 p.m. Family, friends, and all whose lives Dennis touched are invited to commemorate his life, share memories, and find solace in community.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dennis's name to the Veterans Food Pantry and the Wounded Warriors Project, causes close to his heart.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont, ensuring that Dennis's life is celebrated with the respect and dignity he so richly deserved.

Dennis's journey on earth may have ended, but the impact of his love, skills, and dedication will continue to be felt by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
