Semlow, Dr. Dennis Skip Dr. Dennis Skip Semlow, age 55 of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday in Clare, Michigan. Dr. Semlow was born on July 27, 1949 in Peoria, IL to Robert and Juanita (Dutro) Semlow and married Pamela J. VanCamp on Oct. 10, 1970 in Davenport, IA. He has been a resident of the Fremont area since 1972 where he established the Semlow Chiropractic Center in Fremont. He was a member of the Fremont Chamber of Commerce and enjoyed scuba diving, motorcycle riding, his tools, was active in the Fremont United Methodist Church and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Dr. Semlow graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1972 and later served on the Board of Trustees of Parker College of Chiropractic. In 1992 Dr. Semlow received the Chiropractic Spinography Achievement Award and was also a Diplomat and Delegate of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. He was also a member of the Michigan Chiropractic Society, International Chiropractors Association, served as State President and Chairman of the Board of the Michigan Chiropractic Council, Chairman of the ICA Practice Management Committee; Chairman of the Insurance and Peer Review Committee of Michigan Chiropractic Society and served on the post graduate continuing education facility of several chiropractic colleges including Palmer College from 1985-1992. Dr. Semlow was a prolific writer and wrote numerous books and booklets for the chiropractic profession on chiropractic practice and insurance. He was awarded the Most Admirable Man from the Michigan Chiropractic Council and Chiropractor of the Year from the Parker Chiropractic Resource Foundation. He was appointed by former Governor Milliken to the Health Manpower Study Organization. Survivors : his loving wife of 35 years, Pamela of Fremont; his children, Dr. Brock Jason Semlow and fianc, Dr. Jodi Perrin of Fremont; Michele Lyn Semlow of Gunnison, CO; Kirk Justin Semlow of Fremont; Jennifer (Heath) Scott of Gaylord, MI; his brothers, Dr. Robert (Cappy) Semlow of Chesterfield, MI; Dr. Ronald Semlow of Shelby Twp., MI; Dr. Kent (Sandra) Semlow of Shelby Twp.; MI; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Juanita Semlow. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 24, 2005 from the Fremont United Methodist Church in Fremont with Rev. Larry Wood and Rev. Bertram Vermuelen presiding. Friends are asked to consider Newaygo County Community Services or Palmer College of Chiropractic Dr. Dennis Semlow Scholarship Fund.
