Youker, Deronda Chum Deronda D. Chum Youker, age 81 of Fremont, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2005 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Chum was born on July 29, 1923 in Traverse City to Donald and Eva (Tucker) Youker and later married Wynonda Marie Dipple on May 13, 1946 in Dayton Center, Michigan. Marie preceded him in death on December 20, 1996. Chum graduated from Fremont High School in 1942 and soon joined the United States Navy where he served four years during World War II. Chum had been a Union Representative for many years at the Teledyne Continental Motors Company in Muskegon until his retirement in 1987 after 40 years of service. He had been active in coaching summer little league baseball for many years, had been active in the Hesperia Conservation Club, was one of the founders and designers of Northwood Golf Course first nine holes and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He had been active in the Holton American Legion and the Hesperia American Legion. He is survived by his sons, Bruce Youker of Fremont and his wife, Marie Ofelia of Honduras; Brett and his wife, Deanna of Holland; his grandchildren, Brandon Youker; Bethany (Ryan) Delong; Caleb Youker; Joilynn Youker; Rachel Youker; Jillian Youker; his great grandchildren, Lauren Delong and Elizabeth Delong. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wynonda Marie. Funeral memorial services were held on Saturday, January 29, 2005 from the Reeman Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Les VanDyke presiding.
