Deverin Storm Simons, age 24 of Newaygo, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 29, 2012. Deverin was mistakenly taken from us that night on his way home. Deverin was born on June 29, 1988 in Grand Rapids to Trim Simons and Loraine Stokkers and has been a lifelong resident of the area. Deverin enjoyed hunting, fishing, mud running, snowmobiling and cutting wood. Deverin married Kari Shears on August 23, 2008 in Newaygo and was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother and uncle. Deverin was the hard working owner of Shears Forest Products. Deverin had a passion for life and loved to help others whenever he could. Deverin will be truly missed by his family and friends. Deverin is survived by his loving wife, soul mate and best friend, Kari; his four beautiful children, Elijah Shears-Simons; Malachi Shears-Simons; Julian Simons; and Kaverin Simons; his father, Trim (Kay) Simons of Newaygo; his mother Loraine (Keith) Thompson of Fremont; brothers and sisters, Brian Thompson; Justin Thompson; Samantha Stokkers; Richard Thompson; Nichole Thompson; Heather (Nathan) Gross; Sierra Thompson; Tiffani (Bill) Ford; Jade Simons; Gilbert (Amy) Flores; Crystal (James) Gaylord; Kimberly (Shaun) Kuriata; John (Monica) Lane; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; his grandmother, Josephine Simons; father-in-law, Gary Shears; mother-in-law, Pam Bryant. Deverin was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Berry; his grandparents, Leon and Mary Simons and Josephine and Bill Stokkers; his aunt, Sandy Crawford. VISITATION : Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 6-8pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Monday, November 5, 2012 at 11am at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel.
