Obituary

Dolly A. (Bryan) Kirwin, age 77 of Hesperia, passed away, Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon. Dolly was born on February 2, 1938 in Hesperia to Albert and Pauline (Otterson) McGill and has been a longtime resident of the Hesperia area. Dolly married Verlus R. Bryan on August 29, 1953 in Hesperia and he preceded her in death on May 16, 1983. She later married Max Kirwin on October 10, 1986 and he preceded her in death on June 27, 2013. Dolly had worked at the Newaygo Medical Care Facilty in the laundry department for 12 years until her retirement. Dolly enjoyed dogs, especially Barkley; dining out, shopping, visiting and spending time with her true friends and her most recent happiest time was spending time and talking with her daughter and granddaughter. The family would like to thank the staff at the Sanctuary at the Oaks and Sanctuary at the Park for the care and friendship that Dolly received during the last 2 years. Dolly is survived by her children, Reggie Bryan of Fremont, Michelle (Mark) Fairchild of Hesperia; Brenda (Rick) Johnson of Muskegon; Rex (Sally) Bryan of Dowling, Michigan; Kim (Chris) Lumbert of Hickory Corners, Michigan; her son-in-law, Allen Fairchild of Hesperia; her step children, Shelly (Charles) Carter of Pentwater; Maxine (Al) Masta of Walkerville; John (Nancy) Kirwin of Rothbury; Helen (Ben) Johnson of Manistee; and Heather (Bryan) DeAugustine of Marquette; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sisters, Sue Ellen Otterson of Hesperia; Delores Dougan of Hesperia; several nieces and nephews. Dolly was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Fairchild on July 15, 2012 and by her step son, Kelly Kirwin. Following Dollys wishes, cremation has taken place and private graveside services will be held at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan next to her husband, Verlus. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence, c/o Harbor Hospice for memorial contributions in memory of Dolly.
