Dolores I. McCastle, age 83, of Holton passed away with her family by her side on Monday, November 9, 2015, at Spectrum Health Zeeland Community Hospital. Dolores was born on March 3, 1932, in Chicago to Charles Frederick and Elsie Emma (Schaeffer) Schroeder and married George Arthur McCastle on July 31, 1948, in Holton. Dolores enjoyed taking care of animals, gardening and flowers, and traveling the United States. She cherished her family and liked pleasing the palate of family and friends. Dolores is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, George; children, Gary L. (Patty) McCastle of Green Castle, IN., Karen D. Nichols of Muskegon, and Mark A. (Wanda) McCastle of Holton; 11 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her daughters, Renee McCastle and Diane L. Moschke; brother, Kenneth Schroeder; sister, Irene Brandt; grandson, Jared Nichols; and one still born son. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont with Rev. Wayne McCastle and Chaplain Mark McCastle officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 11 am. Interment will be in Clark Cemetery.
