Don A. Miller, Sr, age 61 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at his home following declining health for the past several years. Don was born on January 23, 1948 in Hart to Roy Ellsworth and Mabel Iva (Frees) Miller and grew up in the Ferry area. Don graduated from Shelby High School in 1966 and continued his education at Muskegon Community College and Ferris State College where he received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Don met and later married Evelyn Strait on June 8, 1968 in Elbridge Township. Don had worked at the Fremont Times Indicator for 18 years in the sales and advertising department and then started Miller Advertising Promotions which he owned and operated for many years. Don enjoyed antique collecting, was a 1957 Chevy enthusiast and had been active in the Fremont Chamber of Commerce with civic activities for many years. Don truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and they brought him daily joy. Don is survived by his wife of 40 years, Evelyn of Fremont; his children, Annette (Karl) DeVisser of White Cloud; Don Miller Jr. of Grant; his grandchildren, McKenna, Kayley, Eric, Isabelle; his brother, Allen (Pat) Miller of Hesperia; his sister, Linda of White Cloud; his mother-in-law, Eunice Strait of Walkerville; several special cousins; 4 sisters-in-laws; 3 brothers-in-laws; many nieces and nephews. VISITATION : Friday, April 10, 2009 from 5-8pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home.
