Donald L. Burkett, age 83 of Twin Lake, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 11, 2017. Don was born on April 4, 1934 in Fremont to Ernest and Geraldine D. (Pratt) Burkett and has been a longtime resident of the area. Don had been a millwright at Campbell Wyant and Cannon in Muskegon for several years until his retirement and enjoyed carpentry, puzzles and playing the lottery. Don has served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.

Don is survived by his children, Brian Lee (Lisa Marie) Burkett of Twin Lake; Cindy Lou Burkett of Twin Lake; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Geraldine Burkett; his son, Donald Burkett Jr. in 1991; his sister, Sylvia Hobby on December 16, 2010; his sister, Mona Pfiffer on June 16, 2006.

Military graveside services will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017, at 1pm at the East Hesperia Cemetery under the auspices of the Holton American Legion Cobb, Trygstad, Anderson Post #381 and Air Force Honor Guard. Interment will be in East Hesperia Cemetery.
