Donald L. Conkle Sr., age 73 of White Cloud, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus in Grand Rapids following a short illness. Don was born on July 2, 1942 in Muskegon to Wesley and Gertrude (Lesky) Conkle and has been a resident of the White Cloud area since 2005 when he moved from Holton. Don had worked as the head of the maintenance department at VegPro in Grant for many years until his retirement. Don enjoyed working and was seldom later or absent from his work, but when it came time for retirement, Don certainly enjoyed retirement better. Don had attended the Christian Builders Mission in White Cloud. Don is survived by his son, Donald (Ruby) Conkle of White Cloud; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sister, Marie (Ernie) Jordan of Holton; 1 niece and 1 nephew. Don was preceded in death by his by his grandson, Wesley Conkle; his fianc, Darlene Smith and fianc, Marty Conkle. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Conkle family to assist with funeral expenses in memory of Don.
