Obituary

Donald E. Cook Jr., age 51 of White Cloud, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 11, 2012. Don was born on January 17, 1961 in Jacksonville, Florida to Donald E. and Elizabeth E. (Smith) Cook and later graduated from Western Boone High School in Thorntown, Indiana and immediately joined the U.S. Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton and Okinawa, Japan. Don met and married Lezlie Kay Stevenson on August 29, 1987 in Middleville, Michigan and moved to the White Cloud area in June 2001 from Anderson, Indiana. Don had been a field technician for the Lodgenet Interactive Company of Sioux Falls, South Dakota for the past 16 years. Don was a member of the White Cloud United Methodist Church where he was a trustee and also served on the Wilcox Township Board. Don enjoyed the Michigan outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding his quad and being in the woods. Don truly enjoyed his children and their activities and had been a coach for his childrens sports teams at White Cloud High School for many years. SURVIVORS : his wife of 25 years, Lezlie of White Cloud; his sons, David (Lindsay) Cook, stationed with the U.S. Marine Corps in Jacksonville, North Carolina; Steven (Veronica) Cook, stationed with the U.S. Navy at Kingsbay, Georgia; his daughter, Ivery Cook of White Cloud; his brothers, Michael (Denise) Cook of Lizton, Indiana; Kevin Cook of Indianapolis, Indiana; Richard Cook of Greenfield, Indiana; his sister, Barbara (Walter) Norton of Crawfordsville, Indiana; his grandmother, Blanche Smith of Perham, Minnesota; his aunts, Kathy Batman of Martin Lake, Minnesota; Jean Lillis of Perham, Minnesota; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, KayDon & Barbara Stevenson of Bradenton, Florida. VISITATION : Wednesday, August 15. 2012 from 5-8pm and at the Crandell Funeral Home - White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 11:00am at the White Cloud United Methodist Church. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : White Cloud United Methodist Church.
