Donald E. VanAuken Jr., age 64 of White Cloud, passed away Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Don was born on October 26, 1944, in Vermontville, Michigan to Donald and Altea VanAuken Sr. and married Kathy Ellen on September 12, 1980, in Grand Rapids. Don was a truck driver and Navy Veteran serving in Vietnam, loved his family, horses, and fishing with the guys. He is survived by his wife, Kathy of White Cloud; children, Jerry (Kathy) Bergakker of Kalamazoo, Matt (Diane) Bergakker of Three Rivers, Darla (Jeff) Middlestadt of White Cloud, Jeff VanAuken of Hillsdale, and Eric VanAuken of White Cloud, 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; mother and father, Donald and Altea; brother and sister, Tom (Theresa) VanAuken and Tina (Dennis); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Dallas Bergakker . Interment services has taken place. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the VanAuken family to assist with funeral expenses.
