Donald Lee McDonald, age 52, of Fremont passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Mercy Health Partners - Sherman Campus in Muskegon. Don was born on May 6, 1963, in Cadillac to Ronald and Alice (Meade) McDonald and married Shelley Jean DeWitte on May 16, 2007. Don enjoyed woodworking, scuba diving, gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, and time with his family. Don is survived by his wife, Shelley; children, Ryan (Karima) Fries of Farmington Hills, Melissa (Jon) Rogers of Franklin, TN., Carey (Dan) Salerno of Pompton Lakes, NJ., Julie Russell of Key West, FL., and Robert Russell of Key West, FL.; his father, Ronald; 9 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Nicholas (Elise) McDonald of Muskegon, Laurie Stanley of Remus, Randy (Beth) McDonald of Fremont, Rodney McDonald of Dixon, IL., Glenna Alberts of Fremont, Kathy McDonald of Kalamazoo, Rolland (Shanna) McDonald of Holton, Virginia DeWitte, Dianne (Craig) Ritsema, Toni (Steve) Miller, Su (Jack) Church of Fremont, Gayle (Dave) Boyer of Grand Rapids, and Bill (Dana) DeWitte of Holland. There will be a Memorial Gathering to celebrate Don's life on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 12 noon, at the home of Don and Shelley McDonald 6998 44th Street in Fremont.
