Donald Ralph Spaulding, age 65, of Lakewood Club passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at his home with his family and friends by his side. Don was born on March 1, 1956, in Shelby to Warren Alfred and Marylyn Marize (Gross) Spaulding and married Anna Marie Pickard on March 16, 1974, at the Holton United Methodist Church. They were later married into the Catholic Church on April 18, 2021. Don "Dirty" worked in shipping and receiving for CMI International – Dearborn (now Chasixx) for 33 years. He enjoyed camping, watching sports, grilling, playing Santa Claus at Christmas, and cherished his time with his children and grandchildren. Don had a strong faith and was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Lakewood Club. Donald is survived by his devoted wife, Anna; children, Amanda Marize (Gabriel) Skofic of Holton, Donald R. Spaulding Jr. of Twin Lake, and Anthony Andrew (fiancée Lisa) Spaulding of Kansas; grandchildren, Cody Allen Lohman, Bradley Joseph Dziura, Cameron Scott (Samantha) Lohman, Sierra Lynn (Allen) Burrows, and Justin Scott Theodore; great-grandchildren, Daizy Maye Lohman and Beyleigh Graise Lohman; brothers and sisters, Glenn (Gayle) Spaulding, Joe (Mary) Spaulding, Ted Spaulding, Liz (Gary) Wall, Elaine (Frank) Crofoot, Robert Spaulding, Tracy Spaulding, Stacy Mejia, and Donna (Miguel) Melo; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill (Fran) Clark, Hank (Margaret) Wallen, Maryann Culp, Patrick (Brenda) Pickard, Dora Carrier, Rodney (Cindy) Pickard, and Rosemary Szejn; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, Warren and Marylyn; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Benjamin Pickard, Dallas Pickard, Lavon Pickard, Ralph Pickard, Eli Pickard, Kenneth Carrier, David Culp, and Bartlett Szejn. A Mass of Christian Burial for Don will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 7, 2021, at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Lakewood Club (150 Church Street Twin Lake, MI 49457) with Father Godfrey C. Onyekwere officiating. There will be a time of visitation prior to the Mass at the Church from 10 – 11 AM. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery on Russell Road in Dalton Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Spaulding family to assist with expenses and will go to Anna.
