It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Donavan Marcus Stevens, a cherished son, father to be, fiancé, brother, and beloved grandson, nephew and friend. Donavan passed away on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025, at the age of 20. He was born on May 4th, 2004, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and was a resident of Newaygo, MI.

A dedicated graduate of White Cloud High School in 2022, Donavan discovered his passion for special purpose machinery, which led him to a career he loved at Bucher Hydraulics. His enthusiasm for life extended beyond his professional accomplishments. Donavan was an avid motorcycle rider, devoted to working on his bike and car, enjoying the thrill of basketball, and the serenity of kayaking down the river. His affectionate bond with his pets and family was paramount, and his church community held a special place in his heart since he attended his first service at just five days old.

Donavan is survived by his beloved fiancé, Alexus Richmond, and their son, Donavan Marcus II, who will carry on his legacy. He leaves behind his devoted parents, Harry and Lydia (MacDonald) Stevens, and cherished siblings, Isaac (Wendi) Stevens, Josh (Jessica) Stevens, Kasey (Abbey) Stevens, Dimi Schondelmayer, and Chloe Stevens. His grandmothers, Jeanine Oswald and Sarah Cooley, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, will forever keep his memory alive. Preceding Donavan in death were his grandfather, Tony Cooley, and uncle, Larry (Lala) Cooley.

Family, friends, and all whose lives Donavan touched are invited to gather for a Visitation and Celebration of Life at Reslife Church in Big Rapids, MI. The Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by the Celebration of Life from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Afterward, there will be additional time to visit with the family, sharing stories and memories of Donavan. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to support baby Donavan Marcus II, ensuring the bright future that Donavan envisioned for his son. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crandell Funeral Home - Fremont Chapel.
