Donita N. Thwaites, age 79 of White Cloud, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 18, 2019 at her home. Donita was born on July 29, 1939 in Williamsburg, Michigan to Donald and Hilda Belle (Samels) Gibson and moved to White Cloud at the age of 1. Donita graduated from White Cloud High School in 1957 and later married Robert Thwaites on May 15, 1965 in White Cloud. Donita had worked at LeMire's Drug Store in White Cloud as a clerk for 17 years until her retirement. She was a long time active member of the White Cloud United Methodist Church where she had arranged for funeral luncheons for many years; was President of the Homemakers Club, decorated the church throughout the year, and a member of all the Circles. Donita was also an active volunteer in the community where she has been a member of the American Red Cross for 45 years and assisted on most of the Red Cross blood drives in White Cloud. Donita was an avid reader, loved cats and dogs in her younger years, was well known for her hugs and enjoyed following all her nieces and nephews in their sporting events at White Cloud High School for many years. Donita is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Thwaites; her sister, Patricia (Orrie) Ebenstein of White Cloud; several nieces and nephews. Donita was preceded in death by her brothers, Brian L.
