Rider, Donna Jean Donna Jean Rider, age 80 of Newaygo (Hardy Dam), passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Donna Jean was born on March 8, 1924 in Dowling, Michigan to David and Cora (Hollopeter) Aspinall and later married Charles Rider on June 2, 1944 in Besemer, Michigan. Donna and Charles had owned and operated Riders Trailer Court and Riders L.P. Gas Services in the Hardy Dam Area from 1958 until their retirement in 1988. Donna enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting in the spring. Donna is survived by her husband of 60 years, Charles of Newaygo; her sons, Donald & Pam Rider of Goodyear, Arizona; Jim& Karen Rider of Big Rapids; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Laura & Burke Swanson and their children, Jessica and Kathryn; Brenda Loncaric; Michael & Janie Rider and their children, Michael Andrew, Marie, Mesa; Tina & Chuck Wohlford and their children, Chase and Marisa; her sister, Leona Roberts of Delton, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Cora; by her sisters, Agnes, Gladys, Iva and by her brothers, Glen and Nub. Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 29, 2005 from the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with interment in the Croton Township Cemetery.
