Donna Jean Robinson, age 68, of Big Rapids passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017. Donna was born February 16, 1949 in Detroit to the union of Fonzie Lee and Mamie Marie (Hall) Robinson. Both parents preceded her in death. She was the second oldest of twelve children which included two brothers whom also preceded her in death, Marcel and Howard Robinson. Also, preceding her in death was her youngest son, Michael Dixon.

Donna was a graduate of Mumford High School. She attended Oakland Community College Nursing School. She was a registered nurse and worked many years as a psychiatric nurse at Detroit Receiving Hospital. In the past she also worked as a nurse at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit and General Motors in Lansing.

She was a loving mother to four children: Leslie, Ronnie, Michelle and Michael. She enjoyed reading, music and spending time with family. Donna was raised up in church and she accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church of Detroit. While there she was an active committee member of the Seasoned Citizens Ministry and the Social Concerns Committee. She helped to organize Community Health Fairs and she always brought many smiles to the children for sharing her goodies and treats.

Donna leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Leslie (Charles) Young, Ronnie (Val) and Michelle; five grandchildren; Donnamarie Dixon, Jason Young, Danielle Young, Gabriel Dixon, Gwendolyn Dixon and Amelia Dixon; Four brothers, Fonzie, Douglas (Angela), Eugene (Cherice) and Lester (Teresa) and five sisters, Veronica (Rafael) Hazel, Catherine Stewart, Karen Robinson, Lynn Robinson and Lisa Robinson; two sisters-in-law, Stephanie Robinson and Virginia Robinson, and four half siblings, Prentiss, Geneva, Kymberlee & Isaiah and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Detroit (13110 14th Street Detroit, Michigan 48238) with Rev. Dr. Billy J. Hill and Pastor Juan Strayham presiding. Family hour will begin at 10:30 AM at the Church. Friends may share memories and condolences online at www.crandellfh.com.on
