Donna L. Rosema, age 77 of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 5, 2018. Donna was born on August 25, 1940 in Muskegon to Henry and Adeline (Bishop) DeWall. She graduated from Calvin College and later received her Master's Degree in Education from Andrews University. Donna married Norman Rosema on September 9, 1960 in Ferrysburg. Donna's family moved to the Fremont area from Grand Rapids in 1975. Donna was an early elementary teacher at Grant Christian School as well as other schools in the area prior to her retirement. Donna was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church where she was active in various groups. She enjoyed volunteering with World Renew and several other community groups in West Michigan. Donna also enjoyed traveling, gardening, collecting Precious Moments figurines, and spending time with her husband in the Michigan outdoors, especially canoeing and cross country skiing. Donna was known and loved by family, friends and neighbors for her generosity and kindness, and she graciously welcomed many to share a meal at her table. Donna is survived by her husband of 57 years, Norman of Fremont; her children, Todd Rosema of Grant; Heather (Jose) Olivares of Grand Rapids; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; special friend, Jervis Gritzner of Fremont; her sisters and brother, Gilda (Stanley) Boelkins of Grand Haven; David (Sandra) DeWall of Grand Haven; Linda (Martin) Alberts of Grand Rapids; her sister-in-law, Marcia (Henry) Hawker of Grass Lake; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
