Peterson, Dora M. Dora M. Peterson, age 83 of White Cloud, passed away Monday, January 30, 2006 at her winter home in New Mexico. Dora was born on July 7, 1922 in Benton Harbor to Patrick and Olive (Caldwell) Murphy and later met and married Ted R. Peterson on September 12, 1943 in Benton Harbor. Dora has been a resident of the White Cloud area for the past 55 years where she had been a 4H leader for 17 years, had been active in the Girl Scouts and had served as Wilcox Township Treasurer for 5 years. Dora loved to travel to Branson, Missouri, and being on their farm near White Cloud. Dora is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ted of White Cloud; her daughters, Sharon Peterson of New Mexico; Gwen Dennis of White Cloud; 2 grandchildren, Daniel (Tiffany) Dennis and Kristen Addis; 3 great grandchildren, Christopher Dennis, Tyler Dennis, and Allison Dennis; her sister, Olive Jean LaPorte of Cassopolis, Michigan; her brother, John (Gladys) Murphy of Benton Harbor; 1 niece and several nephews. Funeral services were held on Friday at at the Hagen Lakeshore Cemetery in Benton Harbor. For a more lasting memorial, friends are asked to consider Bellwether Foundation in Fremont.
