Doris M. May, age 91, of White Cloud, passed away Saturday, March 02, 2013, at Transitional Health Services in Fremont following a short illness. Doris was born on June 4, 1921, in Goodwell Township to Jesse and Lizzie (Bird) Fetterley and attended Goodwell Township School until the 8th grade. Doris married Elmer N. May on July 17, 1940, in White Cloud and Elmer preceded her in death on July 2, 1974. Doris has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area where she was a member of the White Cloud United Methodist Church where she taught high school Sunday school for over 22 years. Doris started managing the White Cloud Co-Op in 1951 and retired at age 65 after 40 years. Doris was a member of the White Cloud Garden Club, Maccabees, Thursday Homemakers Club, had been a White Cloud area historian, and enjoyed scrapbooking. Doris is survived by her children, Leon A. (Janet) May of Rockford; June Sutton of White Cloud; Dean May of Grand Rapids; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. Doris was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan LeMire on January 22, 2013 and by 6 brothers. VISITATION: Thursday, March 7, 2013, from 2 4 PM and 6 8 PM at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES: 11 AM, Friday at the White Cloud United Methodist Church.
