Doris Mengel, 87, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, Friend, passed away on January 25, 2026 after a short illness. Born on April 1, 1938, in Muskegon, Michigan. Doris’s life was filled with love, family and many adventures.

Doris loved to travel, visit family, tell stories and enjoyed life to the fullest.

She is survived by daughters Peggy, Nancy, Donna and Jane, and her numerous grandchildren: Samantha Brauer, Gerold Flater, James Flater, Blossom Berry (Mike Scigliano), Daniel Colón (Beverly Figueroa), Tina Colón, Joseph Vriesman (Arica McCurdy), Michael (Miranda) Flater, Patrick Meyers (Rachel Host), Dustin (Ashley) Meyers, David (Barbara) Vriesman, Jeremy (Susan) Vriesman, Misty Vriesman, Amanda Vriesman, Jesse (Jennifer) Brown, Justin (Aayla) Brown, Scott (Jennifer) Vriesman, Michael Vriesman, Brittney Vriesman and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was also survived by her siblings; Gloria (Nick) Carter and Charles (Diane) Feasel. 

Doris was preceded in death by her son Jerry Flater, grandsons Joseph Flater, Ryan Klawiter, great-grandsons Joseph Berry, Dustin Johnson, and her parents, Themla York and Ivan Feasel.
