Obituary

Dorothy L. Bultman, age 89 of Grand Rapids, formerly of Fremont, went to be with her Lord on Sunday surrounded by her children whose lives she so enriched. Dorothy was born on May 29, 1915 in Fremont to Cassius and Jennie (Dykman) Baars in Fremont and graduated from Fremont High School in 1932. She married Joe Bultman on June 15, 1935 in Fremont and Joe preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 1981. Dorothy was a wonderful, caring wife, precious mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always put others ahead of herself and was a Christian witness to all who knew her. Her great joys were gatherings with family and friends. She had been a lifelong resident of Fremont until her move to Covenant Village of the Great Lakes in Grand Rapids. Dorothy had been an office manager at the Fremont Elementary Schools for nearly 20 years until her retirement and was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church. She is survived by her loving children, Judith (James) Czanko of Grand Rapids; Dr. James (Martha) Bultman of Holland; Dr. C. Baars (Margo) Bultman of Fremont; 6 grandchildren who adored her, Louis (Nancy) Czanko; Lisa (Jeffrey) Bartoszek; Matthew (Wanda) Bultman; Heather (Kevin) Bluemel; Marta Bultman; Peter Bultman; 7 great grandchildren, Kyle, Lane, Kaitlyn, Taylor, Natalie, Joseph, and Jennaka; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mildred (Rev. Joe) Bekkering; Nora (Ray) Somers; Rev. Fred (Linda) Bultman; Gerald (Ruth) Bultman; Rev. Allen (Betty) Bultman; Lloyd (Grace) Smith; Marvin Luchies; step sisters, Peggy White and Thelma Carlson; many nieces and nephews and treasured friends. Dorothy also leaves many dear friends and wonderful caregivers at Covenant Village of the Great Lakes, additionally, the family is grateful for the dedicated care of her physicians and Hospice of Michigan. Celebration of Her Life Services were held on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 from the Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Rev. Scott Hoezee presiding with interment services at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont with Rev. Rick Vanderwal presiding. Friends may consider the Covenant Village of the Great Lakes Benevolent Fund or Fremont Area Community Foundation Endowment Fund for the Fremont Public Schools in memory of Dorothy.
