Dorothy Jean Glapa, age 74 of Croton and formerly of Wyoming, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2000 at her home. She was born on December 27, 1925 in Grand Rapids to Wesley and Henrietta (Lindema) Klok and had been a homemaker. She was a devoted wife of 52 years to Leo Glapa whom she wed on July 15, 1944 in Wyoming. Leo preceded her in death on December 21, 1998. She was a loving and caring mother and had been active in the programs at the Newaygo County Senior Citizen Center in White Cloud. She will be sadly missed by her children, Leo Dale (Ruth) Glapa of Grand Rapids; Dennis Jay (Marjean) Glapa of Alto; Sandra Lynn (Jack) Emelander of Newaygo; 3 grandchildren, Laurie Jo (Craig) Sweeris; Harold Leo Emelander; Charles Gary Emelander; 1 great grandson, Kohlton Sweeris; her sister, Margaret (Adrian) Stehouwer of Grand Rapids; her brother, Wesley (Sue) Klok of Jenison; and her many friends. Funeral graveside services were held on Saturday, November 18, 2000 from the Big Prairie Township Cemetery following cremation.
