Dorothy Eleanor Hoey, 90, of Freehold Township, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022, in Fremont, Michigan. Mrs. Hoey was born in New York City and had resided in Freehold Township for 61 years. She was the manager of Music Makers Theater, Freehold Township. Mrs. Hoey was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold where she served as a member of the Altar Rosary Society, eucharistic minister, lector, and sacristan. She was a member of Court St. Rose of Lima No. 737, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Freehold and a former library volunteer at the St. Rose of Lima School. Her husband of 50 years, Robert F. Hoey, died in 2003. Surviving are her children, Kathleen Brott, husband Carl and their children, James Billings and wife Mere, Chad Brott and wife Angela, and Christopher Brott and wife Marie; Jean Marie White and husband John and their children, Sean, Michael, and Kelly White, Robert C. Hoey and wife Nannaphat and their children, Kathryn Meehan and husband John, Kristan Hoey, and Joe and Jaruwan Promkoon; and 12 great grandchildren. The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, New Jersey, on Thursday, August 11, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at the parish cemetery.
