Dorothy Maxine Howard, age 82, of Fremont passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2001, at Spectrum Health Services Downtown Campus. She was born on May 11, 1919, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Chase and Ora (Maze) French and married Charles Howard on July 15, 1943 in Watertown, New York. She retired from Gerber Products Company where she worked in Direct Mail and bowled on the Gerber Bowling Team. She was a member of the Business Womens Association and was a Scout Den Mother. She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples Of Christ in Fremont where she sang the church choir, participated in the Ladies Aid Society, and taught Sunday School. She is survived by her loving son Robert (Jackie) Howard of Fremont; 4 grandchildren, Traci (Tom) Bosch, Troy Howard, Jaye (Brent) Russell, and Joshua Rottier; 7 greatgrandchildren; 3 sisters, Virginia Glass and Dolores (Mike) Johnson both of Fremont, Barbara (John) Mulholland of Kendall, Indiana; 3 brothers, William (Lilly) French of Carthage, Texas, Larry (Theresa) French and Jerry (Mary) French both of Lansing; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles "Chuck" on November 17, 1990, and 2 brothers, Kenneth and Charles French. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, November 14, 2001, from the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Fremont with Rev. David Dickinson officiating. Interment will be in Sherman Township Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial friends are asked to consider the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.
