Armstrong, Dorothy J. "Jeanie" Dorothy J. Jeanie Armstrong, age 70 of Fremont, formerly of Joliet, Illinois, passed away Monday, January 8, 2007 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids following a short illness. Jeanie was born on October 12, 1936 in Joliet, Illinois to Joseph M. and Catherine E. (Matesevic) Tomac and married James Armstrong on September 24, 1960 in Joliet. She moved to the Fremont area in 1971 and graduated from Jordan College with Honors in 1988. She had been an administrative assistant for many years until her retirement in 2001 and enjoyed reading and playing Bingo. She is survived by her husband, James of Fremont; her children, Dr. Joseph (Jacqueline) Armstrong of Littleton, Colorado; Mary (Kurt Mast) Lynch of Newaygo; Stephen Armstrong of San Jose, California; Teresa (Stephen) Swerda of Littleton, Colorado; her grandchildren, Christina & Robert Armstrong of Littleton, Colorado; Elizabeth Armstrong & Daniel Lynch of Newaygo; Stephanie (Michael) Noffsinger of Hesperia; Janet Lynch of Virginia; her great granddaughter, Kaylee Noffsinger of Hesperia; sisters-in-law, Margaret Pesavento of Lockport, Illinois; Sarah Armstrong of Lockport, Illinois; brother-in-law, Harold Armstrong of Lockport, Illinois; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Catherine (Matesevic) Tomac; brothers, Joseph Tomac Jr. & Robert Tomac; sisters-in-laws, Evelyn Armstrong, June Armstrong, Elizabeth Johnson; brothers-in-law, Charles Armstrong; Marcus Pesavento, Clifford Armstrong and Leonard Kern. Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 11, 2007 at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Father Tony Russo presiding and funeral services at the Tezak Funeral Home in Joliet, Illinois on Saturday, January 13, 2007 with interment in the St. Marys Nativity Catholic Cemetery in Joliet, Illinois.
