Simons, Dorothy Mildred Dorothy M. Simons, age 89, of Fremont, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2005, at Fountain View Retirement Village in Fremont. Dorothy was born on March 20, 1916, in Fremont to William and Sarah (McClure) Linnin and married Val Simons on April 1, 1934 in White Plains, New York. She had been a telephone operator at AT&T until her retirement and was a member of the Old Dominion Episcopal Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Dorothy enjoyed flower gardening, loved seashell beach combing, her poodles and was a rock hound who enjoyed searching for agates in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Val (Karen) Simons of Fort Myers, Florida, William R. (LaRue) Simons of Sanibel Island, Florida, Gregory (Susan) Simons, of Leesburg, Georgia; her daughter, Gretchen (James) Farinosi of Newaygo; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, William (Joyce) Simons of Pennsylvania; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Val in 1991; her brothers, Ray; Harold Pep; and William Willie; and her sister Marion Babe. Memorial services were held on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at St. Johns The Evangelist Episcopal Church in Fremont.
