Douglas D. Blackall, age 81, of White Cloud passed away on Monday, February 15, 2010, at Spectrum Health Services in Grand Rapids. Douglas was born on February 3, 1929, in Grand Rapids, to Leonard and Ella Mae (Stephens) Blackall and married Norma Hunter on July 13, 1990, in Lake City Florida. Douglas served his country in the United States Navy, deployed on the USS Voge, USS Barry, USS Stribling, USS Warrington, and later retiring from the Navy. Douglas was a member of the Croton American Legion. Douglas is survived by his wife, Norma of White Cloud; children, Diana (Dennis) Mahoney, Dennis (Laura) Blackall, Donald (Becky) Blackall, Darryl (Chris) Blackall, Gregory (Heather) Blackall, Jeffrey Blackall, and Douglas D. (Heather) Blackall II; step-children, Terry Ruth Douglas, Carol Ann (Anthony) Perniciaro, Ralph Hunter, and Amy (J.D.) Davis; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Phyllis (Don) Werkema. Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010, at the New Life Assembly of God Church in White Cloud with Pastor Bud Fortney officiating.
