Douglas Wayne Cope Jr., age 50, of Fremont, passed away on February 28, 2011, at his home. He was born on July 24, 1960, in Muskegon, to Douglas Wayne and Vickie (Hawkins) Cope Sr. and had worked as a fabricator and welder at Porter Steel and Welding in Muskegon. Doug enjoyed skydiving and motorcycling. Doug is survived by his children Andrea (Chris) Wilde of Bailey and Ashlea (Jason Walker) Cope of Fremont; parents, Doug and Vickie Cope Sr. of Fremont; 3 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, David Cope of Muskegon, Dennis (Lori) Cope of Fremont, Debra (Steven) Thompson of Fremont, and Georgia (Bruce) Pope of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Dougs life will held at 12 PM, on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at the Holton United Methodist Church with Pastor Jerry Selleck officiating. There will be a time of visitation with the family two hours prior to the service at the church.
