Douglas Alan Watson, 76, passed away at home with his wife by his side, on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Doug was born November 5, 1949, the son of James and Ruth Watson. He Married Cheryle Jackson in 1970 and they enjoyed over 56 years of marriage.

Doug was a former member of the Holton Volunteer Fire Department. He worked for Sha Walker/Knoll for over 25 years. He enjoyed traveling the United States, especially the National Parks. He loved doing wood working with his best friend, Jerry Tackett. Anyone who knew Doug knew how much he loved dogs. Especially his Bernese Mountain Dogs and his dog show friends.

Doug was a loving husband and father - he will be deeply missed.

Doug is survived by his wife, Cheryle, son Steve and his wife Jessica Watson, and his granddaughter Makayla; brothers, Jim and his wife Linda, Gary; sisters Trisha Eich and Janet Glenn. His brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bob Jackson and his wife Judy; Nancy Tackett and her husband Jerry; Paula Webb; Chuckie Jackson (deceased); Dave Jackson and his wife Jamie; Diane Barrett; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service will take place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Holton Cemetery on Brickyard Road.
