Obituary

Douglas Allen Woodring, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family after battling an illness. Born on November 13, 1967, in Fremont, Michigan, Douglas was known for his warmth, dedication, and passion for life.

Douglas was a proud graduate of Fremont High School, class of 1986. He went on to make a meaningful career delivering newspapers for Hi-Lites Graphics in Fremont, where he was appreciated for his attention to detail and commitment. An avid outdoorsman, Douglas loved fishing, bike riding, and sports, particularly football, baseball and fantasy football. His senior year of high school, he served as the equipment manager for the football team, demonstrating his love for both the sport and its community. Douglas achieved the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout, a testament to his character, leadership, and service towards others. His legacy also lives among those he deeply touched with his kindness and generous spirit.

He is survived by his loving mother, Shirley A. Woodring, and his devoted sisters, Deborah (Peter) Truskoski and Candice Todd, and his sister-in-law, Darlene Woodring. Douglas was an adored uncle to nine nieces and nephews and cherished by many great-nieces and nephews and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald L. Woodring; his brother, Scott A. Woodring; his paternal grandparents, Arnold and Mildred Woodring; his maternal grandparents, Elgin and Dorothy Denslow; along with many aunts and uncles who have gone before him.

At this time, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made directly to the family to assist with unexpected final expenses. Arrangements have been handled by Crandell Funeral Home - Fremont Chapel.
