Duane L. Jacobus, age 86, of Bitely passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at his home with his family by his side. Duane was born on December 4, 1927, in Perry, Michigan, to Henry and Marian (Spooner) Jacobus and married Pauline Elizabeth Blaisdell on November 27, 1949, in Wilmington, Massachusetts. Duane enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1946 and was discharged from the US Air Force in 1949. He was an electrician for General Motors and member of the Bitely Community Church. Duane is survived by his loving wife, Pauline; children, Michael Duane (Pam) Jacobus of Ontonagon, Michigan and Susan R. (Fred) Rice of Riverview, Florida; grandchildren, Father Michael John Jacobus, Brandi Rice (Jordan) Maniscalco, and Jackie Sue (Scott) Heiser; great grandchild, Bennett Heiser; and sister, Shirley. He was preceded in death by sisters, Faith and Jean. Services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at the Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud with Pastor Ken Lyon from the Bitely Community Church officiating. There will be visitation 2 hours prior to the service ( 12 2 PM) at the funeral home. For a more lasting memorial, friends are asked to consider the Bitely Community Church.
