Duane S. Winter, age 78 of White Cloud, passed away Friday, June 12, 2009 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Duane was born on January 10, 1931 in Detroit to Linus and Evelyn Winter. Duane had worked at the United Airlines Company where he was a lead fuel man in Detroit and Chicago and retired after 36 years of service to United. Duane was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the United States Army. Duane moved to the White Cloud area 25 years ago and enjoyed raising ducks, geese, and chickens and had enjoyed hunting and fishing. Duane is survived by his children, Duane (Vickie) Winter Jr. of Romulus, Michigan; Susan (Allan) Little of Flushing; his grandchildren, Skylar Winter; Spencer Winter; Crystal (Harold) MacMillan; Rachel Little; his great grandchildren, Sierra and Logan; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his 7 brothers and sisters. VISITATION : Monday 2-4 & 6-8 at Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel.
