Earl Ashley passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in his Holton Township home on Friday, May 9th, 2025.
Earl was born in Shelby, MI to Ora and Lucille (Rice) Ashley. They moved and resided in Muskegon, MI where Earl attended Reeths Puffer High School. He worked and retired from East Muskegon Certified Roofing for 35 years.
Earl met and married the love of his life, Peggy (Close) Ashley and together they shared 43 wonderful years of love and laughter. they raised two beautiful daughters; Erin (Close) Eckert, Amy Ashley. And their two grandchildren; Kurt and Jasmin Cooper.
Earl loved to spend his time outdoors where he would trap, fish, hunt, and go camping as much as possible. He was very charismatic as his wife put it, because he loved to entertain you with good conversation and stories to make you feel happy and laugh. To know Earl was to love Earl and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Earl is survived by his wife, Peggy Ashley, stepdaughter, Erin Eckert, and two grandchildren; Kurt and Jasmin Cooper. His sister, Sonya Trygstad, brother in law, Mark Trygstad, brother, Orie Ashley, Too many nieces and nephews, and dear friends to mention.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Ashley and parents, Ora & Lucille Ashley.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 1:00 p.m.- 3:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Holton Township.
