Earl Cornwell, age 75 of Hesperia and formerly of Battle Creek , passed away Friday at the Hackley Hospital in Muskegon following a courageous 2 year battle with leukemia. Earl was born in Bellevue the son of Joseph and Clara Cornwell and worked in the dairy industry until his retirement to Darlington Lake near Hesperia. Surviving is his wife, Margaret Peggy Cornwell of Hesperia; Dick (Kathy) Cornwell of Shelby; Danny Cornwell of Rock Island, Illinois; Jeffrey (Mary) Cornwell of Battle Creek; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Marie Hooker of Manton; Gertrude Beard of Bellevue; Pauline Norton of Hastings; Murial Stevenson of Battle Creek; Carol Gilbert of Pennsylvania; brother, Sylvester Cornwell of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by his sister, Florence Galihugh and a brother, Clayton Cornwell. Funeral memorial services were held on Monday, March 31, 2003 from the Hesperia United Methodist Church with Rev. Brad Brillhart presiding.
