Earl Ken Kelly, age 90 of Shelby, formerly of Holton, California and Arizona, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Cherry Blossom Manor in Hart. Ken was born on March 31, 1926 to Lloyd and Ella (Cook) Kelly and grew up in the Holton area. Prior to his graduation from high school, Ken joined the United States Navy where he served during World War II. Upon his discharge, Ken came back to the Holton area and became a electrician where he had worked at Muskegon Piston and Ring until he moved to California where he retired from McDonnell Douglass in the early 1980s. Following retirement, Ken moved to Arizona and moved back to Shelby in 2010. Ken was a charter member of the Holton American Legion; enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, and woodworking, cabinet making and remodeling homes. Ken is survived by his children, Pam Falbe of Whitehall; Kevin Kelly of New Port Richey, Florida; Cindy Alexander of Holton; Julie (Gene) Koch of White Cloud; Gail (Ron) Russell of Shelby; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; step children, Dennis, Joe, Shirley, Kathy, and Lynda; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lillian Kelly of Fremont; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Kelly; grandson, Bruce Kelly Jr.; his former wives, Beverly Kelly, Mary Jane Janie Sweet, and Dora Kelly; his sisters and brother, Robert Kelly, Mazie Zeckzer, Lucille Noble; his stepchildren, Pam, John, Teresa, Annie, Joann. A TIME OF CELEBRATION will be held on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 from 1-4pm at the Holton American Legion with MILITARY HONORS given at 2pm at the legion. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Holton American Legion Memorial Fund. INTERMENT : Oakwood Cemetery in Holton.
