Earl C. West, age 74 of Hesperia, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2000 at the Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born on October 25, 1926 in Bad Axe, Michigan to Earl E. and Henrietta (McKay) West and married Doris Bunnell on March 26, 1971 in Hesperia. Earl attended the Hesperia Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Armed Forces. He is survived by his wife, Doris of Hesperia; daughters, Peggy (Mike) Childers of Amasa, Michigan.; Linda (Ken) Passeno of Grant; Colleen (Rick) DeRoos of Wyoming, Michigan; Trudy Schneider of Hesperia; Yvonne (Angel) Davila of Hesperia; Vonda (Ray) Hall of Hesperia; son, Tommy (Cindy) West of Muskegon; 22 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Dotson of Wolverine, Michigan; Verna Blamer of North Muskegon; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Loretta Jean Rajhard. Funeral services were held on Monday, December 11, 2000 from the Hesperia Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Cooper presiding with military rites give by the Hesperia American Legion Post #4075 with interment in the West Hesperia Cemetery.
