Obituary

Edward Nelson Trygstad, age 89, of Holton passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2010, at his home with his family by his side. Ed was born on October 4, 1921, in Holton to Russell B. and Gussie (Benson) Trygstad and married Betty Anderson on October 4, 1949. After her death in May, 1968, he married Jenavene Jerry Deters of Fremont on August 3, 1968, at the Holton Lutheran Church. Ed had worked at Teledyne Continental as a supervisor and was an Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Holton American Legion Cobb Trygstad Anderson Post #397 and had served as Commander of the Post as well as other positions. Ed was an active member and had been a Deacon of the Holton Lutheran Church. Ed is survived by his children, Kay (Tony) Johnson of Fremont, John (Judy) Campbell of Tequesta, FL., Kris Campbell of Holton, wife of David Campbell, Gary (Debbie) Trygstad of Holton, Richard (Kris) Trygstad of Twin Lake, Trudy Ellsworth of Holton, Cindy (Lloyd) Cochran of Mahomet, IL., Patti Skilling of Holton, and Julie Piotrowski of Whitehall; 42 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Marian (Lee) Wilson of Texas, Eileen (Bob) Anderson of Twin Lake, Mason (Shirley) Trygstad of Twin Lake, Marge Sevigny of Fremont, and Larry (Anne) Trygstad of California; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Jerry in June of 2009; children, David Campbell and Guy Trygstad; grandsons, Scott Campbell and Lloydie Cochran; and several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be Monday, December 27, from 5-8 pm at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont with funeral services at 4 pm on Tuesday from the Holton Lutheran Church with interment in Oakwood Cemetery.
