Edith M. Franklin, age 82, of Fremont went home to be with her heavenly Father on Thursday, July 17, 2014. Edith was born on March 2, 1932 in Newaygo to Eugene and Mary (Aishe) Towne and married her soul-mate Floyd J. Franklin on October 20, 1951. Edith was active in the White Cloud Lions Club, ZONTA Club, and sewing circle at the Commission on Aging in White Cloud. Edith was active in her church activities where she was a member at the White Cloud Church of God. Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Floyd; children, Linda (Ronald) Pastor of Howard City, Patricia Franklin of Fremont, Raymond Franklin of Ketchikan, Alaska, David Franklin of Grand Rapids, Roger Franklin of Alto, Marilyn (Terry) Ryskamp of Wyoming, Carolyn (Doug) Boerman of Fremont, Steven (Mary) Franklin of Newaygo, and Joyce (Anthony) Plumstead of Gaylord; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Kenneth Towne of Fremont, Edwin Towne of Fremont, Floyd (Gladys) Towne of White Cloud, Mary Gene (Don) Ogg of Newaygo, and Ronald (Carol) Towne of Ketchikan, Alaska. She was preceded in death by brother, Earl Towne and grandson, Matthew Franklin. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening, July 20th, from 4 7 PM at the Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud and then from 10 - 11 AM on Monday at the Church prior to the service. Funeral services will be on Monday at 11 AM at the White Cloud Church of God with Bishop Jim Fader officiating with interment in Big Prairie Cemetery.
